» drystan aidan merdone. born march 18th 1987. you're probably thinking, what the heck kind of name is drystan? his father was a proud welsh man. so it was only fitting that drystan, his first born was given the most ridiculous welsh name he could find. drystan translates directly to tristan in modern day english (and means something to the effect of "riot", and aidan meaning "little fire" and with the way drystan is a jerk 99% of the time, it is fitting). the name is basically pronounced the same as tristan, but obviously, with d instead of t. he hated it up until the realization that it was all he had left of his father other than family and his memories. it's a constant reminder of who his father was, and where he had came from. he'll take a couple of trips back to wales ever year (one around christmas, one around easter), to keep in touch with those he lost contact with, and to keep his memories of his childhood somewhat alive. a few more trips if he begins to get restless, which is the case more often than not.

» his father died when drystan was the age of fifteen, and although he tried not to show it, he was the one who took it the hardest. the father son relationship was more like a friendship. his father kept him in line, sure he was hanging around with friends who probably weren't the best influence on him, but when his father was around, he did nothing that could possibly get him into more trouble than it was worth. he helped his mother out as much as he possibly could while still having a social life that without somebody to keep him in line, dragged him into a downward spiral of underage drinking and drugs of all sorts, lsd being the main culprit. he'd leave the house on a friday night and not return until early sunday morning, and even at this point he was high as a kite.

» his younger sister was the one to get him out of this habit, following a bad trip on acid, this was the stage of his life at which he put his sister through a lot of shit, although, the incident brought the two closer together. after this, drystan vowed to himself and his sister never to touch another drug again. after this, he'd also toned down on the alcohol, although this is not to say he doesn't still enjoy the occasional drink.

» he was born and raised in a town called swansea, south wales. well, until the age of 14 that is. his father, being the creative director of some advertising company had work commitments that brought about a move to longport, new jersey. he had a few troubles finding his feet, first off being the accent barrier. his accent being so thick that only a few people could understand what he had to say for himself, most of whom had dealt a welsh accent before. the most ridiculous thing, he finds, with his accent is the amount of people asking if he's irish, or scottish. if you were to ask him this nowadays, now that his accent is much less thick, he'd probably offer a punch to the face. occasionally he still manages to say some british slang that leaves his friends wondering what the hell he is talking about. he's fairly proud of his heritage (hence why he gets so worked up about rugby). his mother is filipino, although most wouldn't guess drystan was half filipino if he didn't have his mothers eyes.

» he has two younger sisters, merdone and tillian and they're the light of his life and the ones who kept him going once his father was gone. his mother was permanently out working to pay to keep raising the two of them, and he helped out as much as he could. he spent these few years following their fathers death keeping a close eye on his siblings, and spending a huge amount of time bonding with them. this makes for one trusting relationship between them. he and rhia have some great laughs over the smallest of things, and could probably drive somebody insane with their plotting and bitching. this is the one person drystan would do anything for, even if it was a petty revenge plan. although, he has to approve of anybody she sees otherwise there is hell to pay. they are seriously attached at the hip, and all petty arguments are over within seconds, and are generally over what movie to watch, and generally followed with movie watching, and a lot of ice cream eating. but none of this stops him from making small attempt to "ruin her life" occasionally. he and tilly spend the majority of the time ripping eachother apart, although her being the middle child, she took up part of the responsibility for trying to get drystan home safe when he went on one of this binges or went missing leaving him obnoxious amounts of voicemails and just generally being overly protective.

» a couple of years ago it became known to drystan that his mother had began dating again and had gotten involved with a certain man by the name of beau, the father of setha and this really was to drystan's disgust, although this was still years after his father's death and really his mother couldn't be expected to keep herself cooped away just for the happiness of her son. so immediately, drystan took a disliking to this beau and his son, although a few months later taking note that really it wasn't seth's fault and instead made an effort and the two took quite a shine to one another once he'd moved back from new york. to this day drystan still dislikes his now step-father but has taken a step back from his brattish activities for the sake of his mother's happiness.

» drystan is a tattooist/piercer, and has recently finished off his degree in fine arts. he really was a daddy's boy, especially with the creative things. his bedroom is basically mostly his studio, he'd have to redecorate if he were to ever move out with the state his room is in. he'd aspired to be a tattooist since the age of 13, but in wales, you don't get much chance on the more interesting jobs. moving to america was pure luck, for him to get into exactly what he wanted, and be able to pay the bills with it. having the ability to walk around town and see his work on somebodies body leaves him with a sense of fulfilment for what he does;
uno dos tres cuatro cinco are examples of his latest work.

» after his sister left in march, drystan was pretty much left to his own devices for the space of a week until rosco moved in with him, a couple of months later his boyfriend dannydivi moved in with the two of them. at the beginning of december, drystan and his now fiancé are moving into a split level house with one another just outside of longport.

» drystan has been playing guitar since the age of eleven, so it's not needed to say that he is pretty sweet at playing by the age of twenty. he'd started a small band at school in the first few months he spent in his music gcse class, right before the move, that is. and he's been itching to start another since. he's a big music geek and has a knowledge of chords, scales and recording techniques to blow almost anybody away. he's always used music as a just a hobby, rather than turning it into his job and causing it to be a little mundane. but the music he makes, and the music he listens to is a big part of who he is. brand new being a specific favorite. he's part of a band, similar to every time i die, that go by the name of invisible monsters formed with he and shawn (vocalist) drystan (guitarist) sn (bassist) cdavies (drummer) and on september 30th they were signed to fearless records and toured during the winter.

» on december 31st 2007, drystan and his long-term boyfriend, now husband took a trip to wales to marry and take a vacation, they're now the divi-merdones.
